In May 2004 we launched our monthly music event, 'Afterglow blu presents: Live'.  This provides a performer-friendly platform for high calibre signed and unsigned artists, backed by our resident live band 'Slo burn'.

We aim to be the best in London for audiences who love quality live music (jazz, soul, world), in a friendly atmosphere.

We also present club nights, and acoustic events, and are available to hire.

Afterglow blu Events offers the opportunity for audiences to experience the abundance of high quality talent on their doorsteps, at an accessible price.

Many gifted creative people have been ignored by mainstream structures. Finding sustaining independent outlets to showcase their talents and build their careers can be a daunting task.  Our events have focussed on highlighting musicians, poets and vocalists. Backed by our live band Slo burn, the music spans rock, soul, latin, caribbean, african and folk music within an holistic artistic environment.  We have also hosted visual art, dancers and independent film.
 
Afterglow blu Events are inclusive, where all are welcome to enjoy a friendly, comfortable atmosphere.  As well as live music, our events are enhanced by our DJ, and we encourage networking between those who attend.  Our events are non-smoking, and we always seek venues with disabled access.

We have also featured some of the best spoken word performers in the UK: Zena Edwards, Kat Francois (2005 BBC3 Winner of Poetry Slam), Carl Ramsey, shortMAN and Phenzwaan.

Our Musical Director is actor and drummer Justin Pickett (Kindred Spirit, LifeForce, and TV’s Desmonds, The Bill).
